In conclusion, to grow bigger bulb onions, farmers should plant hybrid varieties on a wider spacing of above 10cm by 12 cm and topdress with DAP, NPK 23.23.0 and CAN at a rate of 100kg per acre.

Watering onions at all three stages of crop establishment, bulb formation, and bulb expansion can help avoid bulb abortion, stunted growth, and small-sized onions with skewed shapes.
