Follow how we do professional cabbage farming from planting to harvesting, as explained in detail in this guide, Cabbage Farming Kenya: How to Farm Cabbages for High Yields.

Cabbage Farming

This project is carried out in collaboration with Mr Henry in Kericho County, Kenya.

Land preparation

Primary and secondary land preparation was carried out to remove all perennial weeds. Planting holes were dug on a spacing of 50cm by 50cm. Two kilograms of well-decomposed manure and 50ggms DAP were added, mixed in every hole, and later irrigated.

Management

Drenching was done with thunder to kill any manure-related pests. On the eve of transplanting, the seedlings were sprayed with Redomil gold to prevent dumping off and fusarium wilt.

Watering and weeding are done regularly for healthier growth. Thunder is sprayed at least once a week to kill any Diamond Back Moth DBM.
